Why is UV protection important?

“Ultraviolet” means “beyond violet”, violet being the color of the highest frequencies of visible light. The rays themselves can’t be seen but the harmful effects on your eyes is quite clear. These rays can also be up to twice as damaging when reflected off of surfaces such as snow and water.

How do polarized lenses work?

Light is made up of waves travelling in different directions. Vertical light is useful to the human eye; it helps us see. But when light strikes a flat surface like a lake, snow, or even your windshield it changes to horizontal light and creates a glare. Polarized sunglasses block horizontal light, so you don’t get the glare. And nobody likes glare. It’s juuust about that simple.

Rheos Gear

IT ALL STARTED WITH A "KERPLUNK"... We've all been there. A beautiful and carefree sunny day with friends on the lake and then..."KERPLUNK" and you watch helplessly as your shades head to straight to the bottom of the water. The problem was until now sunglasses were too expensive to risk using on the water or too cheap to give us the style, comfort, and floating protection we needed. So stop protecting your sunglasses and let them protect you. Grab some water and go play.
